English GCSE Tutors

  • Sam Drury

Hello! I’m Sam, and at the moment I’m studying English Language and Literature at Lincoln College, Oxford. I tutor both English Language and English Literature for GCSE and English Literature for A-level. I would be delighted to help you with any aspect of the courses, including essay writing and exam technique, argument construction, and creative writing, and am happy to help you identify the areas in which you are least confident if necessary. Our sessions will not aim to cover too much or too little at a time, but instead focus on building the skills crucial for the subject - clear and concise writing style, time management, literary analysis, essay planning - at the pace which best suits you.

  • Hannah Naftalin

Hi, I’m Hannah. I’m currently in my second year at Durham University studying English Literature, having taken a gap year before university. I achieved all A*s at both GCSE and A-level, where I studied English Literature, Politics and Geography. I tutor English with a strong focus on essay writing, close textual analysis, and developing clear, confident arguments, while also helping students build strong exam technique and organisation. Alongside my academic work, I am a mentor and camp leader for younger students, which has strengthened my ability to explain ideas clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and build confidence in those I teach.
